Eddie Cavazos has devoted his professional life to Elementary Music Education in Northside ISD, San Antonio, TX. He recently retired (2017) after 33 years of teaching. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 1982, and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Music Education at UTSA in 1992. He is a three time, “Teacher of the Year”, having received those honors in 1997 and 2004 & 2017.

Eddie is Worship Leader/Music Director at Lackland AFB Freedom Chapel,
San Antonio, TX where he has served as Music Minister since 1988. He is the Director of Catholic Music and Guitarist/Songleader for the Praise Team.

Eddie has recently teamed up with Award Winning Author, Patty Raymond to co-write the theme song for her new book, ‘The ABC’s to Ranching’. The song, ‘Take Me To The Ranch’, was produced by Rick Alvarez and is currently on iTunes.

Cavazos Music has recently partnered with Allyson Harasimowicz and ReP Family Vision Music to release,
“Journey of the Lamb” (2016), a 10 song compilation designed to take the listener on a journey through Holy Week. The ‘Journey of the Lamb’ (JOTL) Devotional Book was recently released and contains scripture and personal testimonies to enhance the Holy Week experience. Other collaborative projects include a Vacation Bible School (VBS) Curriculum /Music, ‘Carnival Ride’, which will be released Summer 2018 and a Christmas Project, ‘In Need of A Savior’ which was released, Christmas 2017.

Eddie arranged several lullabies from Mexico in a collection entitled, El Patio de Mi Casa, by Gabriela Montoya-Stier, which was published by GIA Music. The CD was released in Spring 2009.

Eddie and his wife, Laura have released six studio projects, “Sing to the Lord” (2004), “Words and Music” (2006), “Well Done” (2009), “Here I Am” (2012), “Free” (2014) ,
“40 Years: Remembering” (2015), which was released to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association and their most recent, “In Need Of A Savior”. Songs from their projects have been recognized in various songwriting contests, including the Mid-Atlantic Song Competition (2015, 2014, 2010, 2008,2007, 2003), Billboard World Song Contest (2006, 2004), “I Write the Songs” songwriting competion (2004) and “Song of the Year” contest (2008,2004), sponsored by VH-1.

Eddie and Laura live in San Antonio, TX. They are blessed with four children and two granddaughters.
